Fungicides are pesticides that kill or prevent the growth of fungi and their spores. They can be used to control fungi that damage plants, including rusts, mildews, and blights. Important fungicides are Captan, Folpet, Dithiocarbamates, Pentachlorophenol, and Mercurials.
Herbicides known as weed killers, are substances that destroy or control weeds and other unwanted vegetation.
There are three types of herbicides:
Systemic herbicides include Glyphosate, 2,4-D, Dicamba, Imazaquin, and Sethoxydim.
Insecticides are substances used to control insects by killing them or preventing them from engaging in undesirable or destructive behaviors.
Miticide, also called Acaricide, is any chemical substance used to control mites or ticks. Azobenzene, Dicofol, Ovex, and Tetradifon are commonly used miticides.
Plant growth regulators/ Phytohormones are the chemical substances that govern all the factors of development and growth within plants, such as increasing branching, suppressing shoot growth, increasing return bloom, removing excess fruit, or altering fruit maturity.
